For my surface design, I chose to make stamps. I didn't have any potatoes but I did find a yam in my pantry which worked out perfect. I just used a knife from my kitchen are carved designs out of the yam which was harder than I thought it would be.
I sewed a few of my dyed fabrics together (poorly).
For my mushroom stamp, I took inspiration from Toronto based artist Shanna Van Maurik. I've always loved her style and the vibrant colors she uses in her prints.
Freshman year of college, our friend group went together to get spontaneous tattoos and this is the one my boyfriend got. It is a very fond memory so I decided to make it a stamp.
